Focus on conservative treatment methods

Significantly more than 90% of our patients recover with conservative treatment methods. Surgical intervention is applied in less than 10% of cases.

Changes in the human musculoskeletal system (bones, joints, muscles, tendons and ligaments), the resulting damage and pain, as well as conservative therapeutic measures are the substance of orthopaedics. Orthopaedic surgery concerns surgical approaches to the solution. Nowadays, it has technically advanced surgery techniques at its disposal.

Treatment methods

Treatment is only useful if it is tailored towards patients and their symptoms

The correct analysis and diagnosis provide direction for the appropriate treatment method and strategy. In our practice in Küsnacht, our main focus is conservative forms of treatment such as physiotherapy and pain medicine. A surgical procedure is not discussed until gentle treatment options have been exhausted.

Even with surgical treatment there is not just one approach for a symptom. It is essential to select the individually optimal surgical method for patients, whereby the invasive nature is adequately tailored. My methods of treatment include diverse forms of conservative and invasive treatment:

"The criteria for the correct diagnosis are given if the subjective details match the clinical and imaging findings. Hence the right treatment can be applied and the best result achieved."

(Prof. Dr. med. A. Schreiber)
